We understand the heartbreak of discovering unexpected health issues in a beloved pet. Like all purebred cats, Cornish Rex can be prone to certain genetic health conditions, with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) as the most significant concern in the breed.

All kitten’s parents are scanned prior to breeding from a board certified cardiologist to make sure it is clear of HCM or any other heart issues. Our cats on our breeding program are scanned starting at the age of 2 years old and yearly after that to ensure no heart issues. Kittens are scanned when they are one year of age. While we can’t guarantee that a cat will never develop health problems, we immediately remove any cats with heart murmurs from our breeding program.
